Health and Wellness Committee
Statement of Purpose
Started in 2013, the GNFCC Health and Wellness committee is a member based group within the GNFCC. Committee members include representatives from all aspects of the health and wellness industry. The Committee’s purpose and goals are:
• To enhance, promote and celebrate North Fulton’s health and wellness providers and support economic development in North Fulton and its six cities.
• To support health and wellness activities in the North Fulton community and maintain the quality of life.
• To provide a forum for Chamber members to receive current and relevant information that may impact the way in which they provide health and wellness benefits to associates in order to attract and retain talent.
• To provide a link for all Chamber members to access quality health and wellness resources.
• To support the growth and quality of healthcare practices, institutions and other providers of care.
• To present the GNFCC Health and Wellness Hero Award to a member of the GNFCC that goes above and beyond to promote health and wellness in North Fulton county.

North Fulton residents have the advantage of world-class healthcare close to home. Patients drive from all over the Southeast to receive care from North Fulton's excellent hospitals and physicians. Six major hospitals, offering a wide variety of medical specialties and hundreds of highly skilled physicians, serve the citizens of greater North Fulton. In addition, through urgent care centers, modern healthcare is available on an emergency basis as well as through routine preventive care appointments.

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta enhances the lives of children in North Fulton through excellence in patient care, research and education.

Emory Johns Creek Hospital is a 110-bed, all private room hospital with a comprehensive range of services, from 24/7 Emergency, Women's Services, Orthopaedics, Oncology to Cardiology. With more than 500 physicians, comprised of Emory and community physicians representing more than 37 specialties. EJCH is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to meet the healthcare needs of our growing community. Emory Johns Creek Hospital boasts a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and is a designated Center of Excellence in Bariatric Surgery. The hospital opened in February 2007, in the heart of Johns Creek.

Grady Health System, operating from a base in downtown Atlanta, makes a full range of healthcare services available to residents of North Fulton. In partnership with physicians from Emory University School of Medicine and Morehouse School of Medicine, Grady is the premier provider of trauma and burn services in the state of Georgia. Grady is also home to the Georgia Cancer Center for Excellence at Grady and the Grady Regional Perinatal Center, both regional centers of excellence in downtown Atlanta.

North Fulton Hospital has been serving the medical and healthcare needs of North Georgia residents for more than 20 years. This 167 bed acute-care regional hospital, has a medical staff of more than 450 physicians, 1,000 healthcare professionals and 250 volunteers. As a state-designated Level II Trauma Center, North Fulton Hospital's emergency department is staffed with board-certified and board-eligible emergency physicians, nurses and technicians. The ER treats approximately 3,000 emergency cases each month.
